Winter Outfits with Sézane

One of my top favorite brands of clothing is Sézane, and it is such a pleasure and honor to work with them!! Sézane is a French brand that was founded in 2013 and has enjoyed lots of growth since then, due to their affordable prices and excellent caliber. They have a focus on quality while maintaining accessible prices, while also running their business sustainably with minimal waste. The details that Sézane puts into each piece are stunning; there definitely aren’t many brands that create this kind of quality at a non-designer price point. Their clothing is such a staple in my closet because they have a wide range of creatively designed pieces that work within multiple styles. The materials and fabrics wear well and everything just looks so chic! I’ve worn Sézane for years and never cease to be impressed with my order.

For this post, I placed an order of winter-appropriate pieces that can be dressed up or down and pair well together. I specifically wanted to get a pair of light-colored trousers to fill a hole in my closet as well as a pair of sheer black tights to replace an old pair.

Because everything is so beautiful, I usually have hard time picking what I want to buy from Sézane and end up ordering extra, then returning what didn’t quite work for me. This time, I ordered two different trousers, a couple of sweaters, a sweater dress, a bodysuit, and a pair of tights. I kept five of the pieces and returned two. You can read more about what I thought of everything below!

First, I’ll go over what didn’t work for me. I adore the Léandre Dress, with its beautiful taupe color and crocheted buttons + stitched placket, but it was sadly just a little too big and long on me. I’m petite at 5’3,” so what was supposed to fit as more of a midi dress was a long maxi dress on me. The wool and cotton blend fabric was so soft and warm and I would absolutely have kept this if the size was a little smaller!

Next up are the Théophile Trousers in Mottled Ecru. Once again, I loved these but they were too big. I love the look of wearing a belt with a pair of trousers, so I was drawn to the chunky belt loops on these. I also thought the texture and color of the fabric was beautiful, not to mention the deep pleats at the front. However, the smallest size available is a 2, and I knew they would probably be too big for me. The Théophile trousers are made from wool with a viscose lining, so they would be perfect for cold-weather climates!

Moving on to the pieces I kept, I put together this outfit with the Abele Cardigan and Sheer Tights. I enjoy wearing mini skirts with tights and boots through fall and winter, and the Abele Cardigan is the perfect pairing! It’s made of a plush, cozy blend of merino wool, super kid mohair, and polyamide, and it has beautiful a beautiful ribbed pattern and tortoiseshell buttons.

I have a long torso and short legs, so I like to wear cropped tops and sweaters to help lengthen my lower half and balance out my proportions. I love that this cardigan hits at just the right spot to graze the waist of my skirt without having to be tucked in! It’s so warm and the deep v-neck is really flattering. I’m also happy with the look of the tights, although I was disappointed to find a hole in the right toe after only wearing them a few times. The skirt and boots in this outfit are both old, but I’ve linked similar ones below.

The second outfit I kept consists of the Damon Trousers and Swan Cardigan, which is actually from the Petite Sézane section! The Damon Trousers check every box I wanted in a pair of light-colored pants and I’m so happy they worked out. I have a zero in these, and the size is perfect! They’re fitted through the booty and upper thigh and then widen out from there into a straight leg. There are no belt loops, but the front pleat, big tortoiseshell button, and cuffs had me at hello. The Damon trousers are listed as ankle-length on the Sézane website but they are full-length on me. While they do contain wool, I think these are light enough that they’ll be perfect for spring and summer, too.

The Swan Cardigan is the perfect striped cardigan, and I know I’m going to get so much wear out of it! It’s 100% merino wool, so it’s incredibly soft and warm. My skin is very sensitive and I don’t have any issues with irritation or itchiness. I love that I found this in the children’s section because it saved me quite a bit of money, but the gold buttons make it feel elevated and elegant enough that I’d never know! I always love wearing stripes for the boost of interest the pattern adds to any outfit.

Last but not least, we have the Esteve Bodysuit! I knew the instant I saw this piece in Sézane’s lookbook that I was going to snag it. The pattern is gorgeous and the lace is made from a polyamide-elastane blend, so it’s soft and stretchy for comfort. The bodysuit also has a lovely keyhole in the back and adjustable hook-and-eyes on the inseam. I loved the way Sézane styled this with a black bra to really make the lace pattern stand out, so that’s what I did, too! This look is wonderful for a party or date night - however, it would also work beautifully with a tank underneath for a less flirty look.

To make this outfit, I paired the bodysuit with a pair of knit trousers for warmth and then my favorite loafers. The exact trousers I have are sold out, but I found a couple of similar pairs on Sézane’s website! I think this outfit would look so chic with a blazer layered on top, and I’m also looking forward to wearing the bodysuit with jeans for a more casual vibe.

And that’s a wrap on this Sézane-focused outfit post! I hope you enjoyed it and found some inspiration in these looks. Always feel free to reach out with any questions about these pieces and I’ll be happy to help!

Happy New Year!
xx, Esther
